Guidance for secretaries and treasurers, 13 January 2012

The following letter was sent to all community councils in Perth and Kinross:

FOR THE ATTENTION OF COMMUNITY COUNCIL TREASURERS AND SECRETARIES

Dear Community Councillor,

Further to my letter to Community Council Treasurers on 17 June 2011 confirming the arrangements for harmonising the financial year, I attach a financial guidance note which explains which funds can be applied for, the role of examiners and examples of who can examine accounts etc.   The undernoted templates are based on the models contained within the Good Practice Guidance produced by the Scottish Government and provide an opportunity for consistency of financial returns across Perth and Kinross.  It is appreciated that most of you will have your accounts for this financial year well under way and therefore the templates are for use in the next financial year.  

Your assistance in passing these documents to the relevant office bearers is appreciated.
