Six community councils to attend Planning Users Forum on Wednesday 5 October
Six community councils will be represented at the forthcoming meeting of the Planning Users' Forum: Dunkeld & Birnam, Portmoak, Kenmore, Scone, Fossoway and Mid Atholl, Strathtay & Grandtully.
The Forum meets twice a year, and provides an opportunity for community representatives and developers to meet with senior planning officers.
Various topics will be discussed, including the Convention's proposal that where planning officers are minded to approve a planning application, but the local community council opposes it, the final decision should be made by the Development Control Committee.
Also, Spittalfield and Kenmore community councils intend to discuss ways of ensuring that planning decisions support local character and consider the needs and wants of rural communities.
