Strenthening the role of Community Councils - Scottish Government publishes summary of responses to recent consultation, 25 June 2012

In December 2011 the Scottish Government sought ideas for strenthening the role of Community Councils (click here for more details). Ours was one of 18 responses that have now been summarised and will shortly be considered by the Government's Short Life Working Group on Community Councils. The summary, titled 'Paper CCWG 6.2 - Summary overview of submissions to the group', can be accessed via the Scottish Government website at http://www.scotland.gov.uk/Topics/Government/local-government/CommunityCouncils/CCShortLifeWorkingGroup  (scroll down to the foot of the page).

Unfortunately the Summary does not mention our suggestion for specific new roles for Community Councils, especially in the area of social support. You can see our original submission
here (Word Doc).
